Inspiration for styling a chic and elegant summer wedding from Lucy and Mason's black tie, country house wedding at Hatfield Place in Essex.
If you love the style and formality of a black tie wedding you could host a 'black tie optional' wedding. You only have to look at Mason and Lucy's wedding photos (captured by Nicola Drummond Photography) to see just how amazing this formal monochrome wedding styling can look. This look is perfect for weddings held year round in beautiful country house venues with neutral decor and luxurious details just like Hatfield Place in Chelmsford, Essex, UK.
The venue and grounds provided a stunning backdrop for the couples wedding photos. The couple's choice of chic decor, Lucy's elegant gown and the groomsmen's dapper suits perfectly complemented their surroundings.
Black Tie Wedding Styling
Lucy and Mason already had a very clear idea of how they wanted their wedding to be styled when they first got in contact with me, but some couples don't. This doesn't matter at all, stylists can work with both scenarios.
Having ideas or a vision of how you want your wedding to look is a great start. It is easy to get inspiration, most of my clients use Instagram or Pinterest or wedding blogs like this one. You could end up feeling overwhelmed with images, screen shots on your phone or wedding WhatsApp groups and emailed back and forth amongst the bridal party, so to avoid this, pick a few photos that give a clear indication of the look and feel you want to create rather than exactly how you want a table to be decorated. Share these photos with your trusted suppliers; the ones who really understand your vision and let them create something unique for you, its what they do best!
Lucy and Mason's tables were styled with white and gold elements. They upgraded the venue glassware choosing gold rim tall stem wine glasses and a textured tumbler, added soft cotton runners to create a textured centrepiece and soft linen napkins topped gold glass charger plates. The table settings were finished off with elegant gold flatware. Table numbers were hung on gold sign holders and flickering church candles and elegant flowers grouped in varieties were displayed in clear glass vessels.
