What cake props do you offer for hire? 

We offer 3ft cake tables, dressers and console tables, plinths cake stands and cake hoops for hire for styling wedding cakes displays, dessert tables and celebration cakes. We also have a selection of table runners, candles, lanterns and vases that can be used to accessorise our cake props.

Can I hire cake styling items without full styling?

Yes, smaller hire orders can be collected from our storage rooms in Colchester. A minimum order may apply depending on the event date.

Do you provide cake table cloths? 

Usually your venue will provide linens, but if not, we can hire you a cloth. We'd just need to know which table you are using so we can recommend a correctly sized cloth. It is helpful to book cloths early so we can ensure we have the correct items in stock for your event.

Are the plinths, stands and hoops all strong enough to hold a tiered wedding cake? 

Yes, we've had cakes from 1-5 tiers on/in our cake styling props and often hire items to cake makers themselves. If you have a particularly large cake with a board larger than 14" some of our props might be too small. It's best to share information about your plans so we can advise what is suitable.

Do you set the cake display up for us?

We can offer set up as an additional chargeable service, a minimum order value and delivery and collection apply.

Can you liaise with our cake maker about the set up? 

Yes, please ask your cake maker to reach out to us with any questions.

Do you offer candles and flowers for the cake table? 

You are welcome to choose candles and other items to style alongside your cake set up. We don't offer fresh floral meadows and bud vases as a stand alone item but these are available if you're booking all your wedding flowers with us. We don't supply cake flowers, the cake maker will do this to make sure the flowers are non-toxic, correctly wired or wrapped, and safe to place directly onto the cake. ​

How long is the hire period? 

Our standard hire period is weekend hire. For item hired with delivery and collection the hire period stars on the morning of the wedding or the day before if you would prefer and ends the morning after the event. For items collected but the customer the hire period is Thursday - Monday.

What happens if an item we've hired has been damaged or lost? 

This is rare and usually lost cake stands or cake knives turn up somewhere obvious like in the venue's kitchen. If items aren't returned we charge a replacement fee equivalent to the full retail replacement value. This is usually deducted from your security deposit or invoiced after the event.
